4 Assigned to Worcester
Today the parent San Jose Sharks sent 4 prospects to attend the Worcester Sharks training camp that begins on September 25th. Forwards- Jonathan Tremblay, Ashton Rome, Matt Syroczynski, Torry Gajda will all compete for a spot to make the AHL club.
Last year Tremblay split time between Kalamazoo and Quad City of the UHL and also played in one game with the Toledo Storm of the ECHL. He picked up 2 assist last season and racked up 80 PIMS. He was the Sharks 7th round pick in the 2003 NHL draft.
Rome, the 5th round pick for the Sharks in this year's draft, split time between Kamloops and Red Deer of the WHL. Ashton played in 65 games picking up 30 goals and 34 assist for a total of 64 points. He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 4th round of the 2004 draft.
Matt Syroczynski started his college at Clarkson but then transferred to University of Vermont for his last two years. Last year for the Catamounts he played in 35 games recording 3 goals and 6 assists.
Torry Gajda is from Westfield, Mass and spent 4 years playing at Providence College. In 36 games for the Friar's he scored 14 goals and added 20 assists.
