Kaspar Shines at The Tournament

The Shark's prospects were busy this weekend as they played 2 games against other Pacific Division rivals. Friday night the Sharks played against the Phoenix Coyotes. The Sharks got off to a good start taking a 5-2 lead into the third period, but managed to give up 3 in the third period to force overtime. Kyle Wilson scored 1:59 into overtime though to give the Coyotes the win. Kaspar looked like a leader out there on the ice, scoring on the first shift of the season. Coach Sommer was impressed with his play in the early going saying
"He was in front of the net and he really did some good things"
The Sharks were back out on the ice the very next night as they played the LA Kings. Although it was a different night, it wasn't a different outcome as they lost to the Kings 3-2. Most of the game they were shorthanded 13 times in the first 2 periods. All of the Kings goals came on the power-play with 2 of them being 5-on-3's. New to the North American game goaltender Thomas Greiss stopped 20 out of 23 shots faced. Lukas Kaspar found the score sheet when he made the game 3-2, but it was already too late as the Sharks prospects are 0-2 in the tournament. They will play the Ducks today at 4 p.m.
