30 Days of Hockey Begins

The Worcester Sharks have officially begun their 30 Days of Hockey campaign with many headlines. The Sharks held their press conference on Wednesday to a filled St. Vincent's Hospital atrium that followed with an ice cream social. Finz was on hand roaming around the crowd sporting the Shark's home jersey. The away jersey will be the same model as the home but will be teal instead on white. Also revealed was the third jersey that will be black with a teal and white stripe. The third jersey has the new Worcester mark for the crest. Also announced was that WTAG will be carrying all of the Shark's games home and away. Jamie Smock will be doing the play-by-play as he also has other responsibilities with the team. When you head to the games George Brown will be the public address announcer for this season. Another first for Worcester hockey will be that over 1/4 of the games will be on television. Charter Channel 3 will be covering 12 of the Sharks home games including opening night on October 14th! If you don't have those season tickets yet, you can get opening night tickets on September 23rd. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. for all regular season games at the DCU Box Office.

A few announcements from the Sharks today are that they will be holding a radio show on Sunday's from 7-7:30 a.m. on news talk 580AM. Mike Lehr and Jamie Smock will be hosting the show where you can learn all the information about the Sharks. Also the Sharks have "taken hostage" a WRTA bus, which is covered with teal and Sharks logos. The Sharks also opened the first day of training camp up to the public. They want everyone to come to the DCU Center on September 25th and from 5-8 p.m. you can catch the new Sharks.

It's hard to believe that in only 2 weeks from today, the first home game ever for the Sharks will be played. In just 3 weeks it's their first regular season game on the road in Portland, ME. If you’re interested in seeing history and would like to be apart of that first away game contact the Booster Club at sharkbytesbc@gmail.com and for only $30 you'll get transportation and a ticket to a packed house.
